ARA--------------------------At the Paramanpur Chaturmasya fasting site, India's great sage, Saint Shri Lakshmiprapanna Jiyar Swami Ji Maharaj, said that today, there is a lack of harmony between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law in society, which causes constant curiosity in the home. Just as a mother respects her daughter, and a father respects his daughter, similarly, when a daughter-in-law comes into the home, she should be respected like a daughter by her mother-in-law and father-in-law. Sometimes, a daughter makes a mistake, but parents do not disclose it to anyone in society because they believe that even a small mistake, if made, will have a negative impact on society. However, when a daughter-in-law makes even a small mistake, it becomes a topic of discussion in the neighborhood. This should not happen.

A mother-in-law should not be someone who does not allow her to breathe. A mother-in-law should be someone who respects her daughter-in-law like a daughter. But even if the mother-in-law alone respects her daughter-in-law, it won't work. A daughter-in-law should also respect the dignity of her in-laws, just as she respects her parents. Just as a daughter respects her parents, when she comes to her in-laws' house as a daughter-in-law, she should obey her mother-in-law's orders. A daughter-in-law should not be one who restricts her mother-in-law's breathing. Such a daughter-in-law cannot be good for society.

A new trend has emerged in society today. Daughters-in-law seek less information from their mother-in-law in their in-laws' homes, while they seek more advice from their mothers for everything. However, to establish better harmony in their in-laws' homes, a daughter-in-law should cultivate the habit of seeking her mother-in-law's advice. While the parents' home is their birthplace, after marriage, the in-laws' home becomes their daughter-in-law's place of action for the rest of her life. This is why the special importance of both the place of action and the place of action is emphasized. Therefore, mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law should understand their dignity and establish better harmony in society.
