BUXAR---------------------------CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya arrived in Dumraon, Buxar district, on Tuesday for a day-long visit. He released a report on the five-year performance of CPI(ML) MLA Ajit Kumar Singh at the Nagar Bhawan. On this occasion, he said, "Change the government, change Bihar, and vote thief, leave the throne" have become the slogan of the people.
Prior to Dumraon, hundreds of workers, led by CPI(ML) MLA Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh and other leaders of the India Alliance, including the CPI(ML), welcomed him with garlands and loud slogans.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that public representatives should account for their work before the public, and the public should demand this from them. This duty and right is the beauty of democracy. This must be strengthened even further.
He said that Dumraon is the land of the great Shehnai player Bismillah, and he lacked any memorial. Thanks to the efforts of the CPI(ML) MLA, an arts college is being established in his name. This will prove to be a major step towards preserving our Ganga-Jamuni culture.
He said that while development through MLA funds is important, it is equally important to change the anti-poor, anti-farmer, and anti-employment policies that are handing over all assets, including water, forests, and land, to Adani and Ambani.
Youth from Bihar migrate in large numbers. The BJP's slogan in Delhi was "Where there is a slum, there will be a house." But when the government was formed, migrant Biharis living in Delhi's slums were displaced. Now, at the BJP's behest, the Election Commission has launched a campaign to strip them of their voting rights through SIR and is bent on declaring them "outsiders."
Recalling the martyrs of the 1942 British Quit India Movement across the country, including Dumraon, he said that in enslaved India, young people were shot at. Today, young people demanding employment—dismissed survey contract workers—are being brutally lathi-charged.
He said that Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and Baba Saheb promoted the spirit of freedom, democracy, and equality in the country. We will advance this at all costs.
He said that we, the parties of the India Alliance, fought against the SIR all the way to the Supreme Court and have pushed the Election Commission back three times.
The first time, the requirement to submit documents was removed, the second time, the list of those whose names were deleted was released, and the third victory was achieved when Aadhaar was accepted as a document.
He cited the example of pressure being exerted on the administration by the BJP MLA in Ara to remove the names of poor Dalit and minority voters in the Ara assembly constituency, saying that we must stop this with utmost vigilance. He said that today the slogan "Vote thieves, leave the throne" is echoing across the country.
Referring to the 1989 struggle for voting rights in Ara, in which the poor in Bihta village risked their lives to cast their votes and send their candidate, Rameshwar Prasad, to Parliament, he said that Shahabad has always led the struggle for freedom, democracy, and equality.
He said that the country's independence and sovereignty are in danger. The central RSS-BJP Modi government is bent on mortgaging the independence gained from the British to America. Their silence on the humiliating expulsion of Indians from America and the heavy tariff taxes is an example of this.
He said that Nitish Kumar gave the slogan of development with justice. He formed a commission for land reform and education reform, but shelved its report. In the name of justice, he has handed over the entire state to criminals and corrupt people.
