ARA------------------------------A CPI-ML delegation met with the Municipal Commissioner to demand timely action on pressing issues such as repairing dilapidated roads in Ara city, eliminating garbage heaps, and permanently addressing waterlogging. CPI-ML submitted a public memorandum of demands to the Ara Municipal Corporation Commissioner.
A high-level CPI-ML delegation met with the Ara Municipal Commissioner late last evening to demand timely action on pressing issues such as repairing dilapidated roads in Ara city, eliminating garbage heaps, and permanently addressing waterlogging. Expressing outrage over the alleged embezzlement of the Ara Municipal Corporation's annual budget of over ₹1000 crore and total budget of ₹5000 crore, the delegation submitted a detailed memorandum of demands to the Commissioner on behalf of the people of Ara.
Sharply criticizing the corporation's criminal negligence in addressing the dire conditions of life in Ara, which are fraught with dilapidated roads, waterlogging, and heaps of garbage, CPI(ML) leaders declared that if the situation doesn't improve within a week, the CPI(ML) will take to the streets in a decisive struggle. The CPI(ML) leaders stated that the BJP's mayor, deputy mayor, local MLA, and urban development minister must take responsibility for this dire situation in Ara and account for the embezzlement of thousands of crores of rupees. CPI(ML) leader Qayamuddin Ansari stated this in a press statement.
The issues raised by the CPI(ML) before the Municipal Commissioner included the repair of all dilapidated roads in the Ara Municipal Corporation, the elimination of waterlogging, the liberation of Ara from heaps of garbage, the restoration of all defunct streetlights, the proper maintenance of dilapidated toilets and the maintenance of old ones, action against the corruption in the supply of pure drinking water and tap water schemes, the cleaning of clogged drains, and an increase in the wages of sanitation workers and sweepers.
