COUNCILORS ARE AGITATED OVER NAGAR PANCHAYAT EO’S ABSENCE

ARA---------------------------Development work in the Shahpur Nagar Panchayat area has stalled, causing frustration among citizens. Over the past three years, there has been no tangible progress in the name of development in the area. The sanitation agency was blacklisted due to irregularities, and development work has stalled. Not a single brick has been added in the name of development. If any bricks have been added, it has been by angry people in the middle of the road, but the city administration has remained silent.

In such a situation, the general public no longer has any hope from the Nagar Panchayat; in fact, they are deeply disappointed. The chaos is such that the people of the city are not receiving any benefits. Despite tenders being issued years ago, the contractor has not completed the work. In some places, the work has not even been started. The contractor is acting arbitrarily, as if he has been given a free hand by the city officials.

Meanwhile, Councilor Kameshwar Raj reported that he has informed the District Magistrate about the current situation in Shahpur Nagar Panchayat. They reported that the Executive Officer (EO) comes to the office irregularly, hampering development work. He is difficult to contact and does not even attend general board meetings. When a report needs to be sent to the department, he calls employees to his residence in Ara. He has no fixed office time, nor does he answer calls.

This indifference is affecting the city's development work. Recently constructed PCC roads have caved in and deteriorated in the rain, but the EO hasn't even inspected them. The sanitation system has also collapsed. Monkey menace has increased in Shahpur city. Monkeys are bathing in the tap water tank, but the city administration is paying no attention. Safety standards are also being ignored. Repeated complaints have been filed, but they haven't reached the EO. The councilor says that the office is now running solely on the staff, and the public is facing significant difficulties.
