BUXAR---------------------------The 108th birth anniversary of India's first woman Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, the late Indira Gandhi, was celebrated with reverence and respect at the Buxar District Congress Committee office on Wednesday. The program, chaired by District President Dr. Manoj Pandey, began with a floral tribute to Indira Gandhi's oil painting. Senior Congress members, including the District President, paid homage by laying flowers at her statue.

The 108th birth anniversary of India's first woman Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, the late Indira Gandhi, was celebrated with reverence and respect at the Buxar District Congress Committee office on Wednesday. The program, chaired by District President Dr. Manoj Pandey, began with a floral tribute to Indira Gandhi's oil painting. Senior Congress members, including the District President, paid homage by laying flowers at her statue.

Addressing the birth anniversary celebrations, District President Dr. Pandey said that Indira Gandhi was a powerful and influential leader not only of India but of the entire world. Under her leadership, the country demonstrated courage, valor, and strong will. After serving as Prime Minister three times, she sacrificed her life for the country for the fourth time, reflecting her commitment to serving the nation.

He further stated that Indira Gandhi's decisive leadership in the 1971 Pakistan war changed history. As a result of the war, Bangladesh was created and Pakistan was divided into two parts. Dr. Pandey said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also praised her bravery and addressed her as "Durga."

State representative Dr. Pramod Ojha, highlighting Indira Gandhi's scientific vision, said that she also led India's first nuclear test in Pokhran in 1974. He said that despite international pressure and the displeasure of some countries, she never compromised on national interests.

Senior leaders of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, including Kameshwar Pandey, Mahima Shankar Upadhyay, Triyogi Mishra, Runi Devi, Kumkum Devi, Sanjay Dubey alias Pappu Dubey, Ramprasad Dwivedi, Nirmala Devi, Mohan Prasad Verma, Babban Turha, Lal Saheb Singh, and Sudarshan Singh, along with a large number of party workers, were present at the event. All pledged to fulfill Indira Gandhi's unfulfilled dreams and follow her ideals.

On this occasion, several scholars, including Dr. Siddharth Bhardwaj and Shivam Dubey of Patna College, also highlighted Indira Gandhi's personality and contributions and paid tribute. At the end of the event, Kisan Morcha District President Sanjay Pandey, while expressing his gratitude, said that it is the responsibility of Congress members to carry forward Indira Gandhi's ideas and struggle, while keeping national interest paramount.
