PATNA-------------------------The Grand Alliance has not reached a consensus on seat-sharing before the Bihar Assembly elections, but the Congress has begun the process of selecting its candidates. The first PEC meeting was held in Patna, attended by 39 members.

Suspense continues over seat-sharing within the Grand Alliance ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. A seat-sharing formula has not yet been finalized between the RJD and Congress. Amidst this uncertainty, the Congress has taken a step forward and begun the process of selecting its candidates.

The first crucial meeting of the Congress State Election Committee (PEC) has been convened today at 1 pm at Sadakat Ashram in Patna. The selection of party candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections will be discussed in detail.

A total of 39 members are attending the PEC meeting. Significantly, Pappu Yadav, Congress MP from Purnia, has also been invited to this meeting. It should be noted that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge announced the Bihar Election Committee on September 16th.

The PEC includes several prominent leaders, including State Congress President Rajesh Ram, Congress Legislature Party Leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Congress Legislative Council Leader Madan Mohan Jha. All Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs, CWC members, AICC secretaries, and the state presidents of the NSUI and Youth Congress from Bihar have been included as permanent invitees.

After today's meeting, Congress will move forward with preparing its potential candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. While seat-sharing has not yet been finalized, Congress has signaled its commitment to election preparations.

This move by Congress also sends a political message within the Grand Alliance. While the RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav, is still embroiled in seat-sharing, Congress has begun candidate selection, signaling its readiness to consolidate its position. It will be interesting to see in which direction this aggressive preparation of Congress turns the politics of the grand alliance and by when the seat sharing formula gets finalised.
