PATNA---------------------------Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken another step towards women empowerment in the state by making a big announcement today.

Nitish Kumar has announced an increase in the honorarium of all the Anganwadi workers and assistants of the state on his official Facebook social media and said that Anganwadi workers and assistants have an important role in improving the nutrition and living standards of children and pregnant women in the state. Respecting their role, we have decided to increase their honorarium. Now the department has been directed to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi worker from Rs 7,000 to Rs 9,000 and the honorarium of Anganwadi assistant from Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,500.

Nitish Kumar has said that since the formation of the government in November 2005, we have worked on a large scale to improve the nutrition and health of pregnant women and children and for this, 06 types of services are being provided through the Integrated Child Development Project. Anganwadi workers and assistants play an important role in providing these services to the beneficiaries through Anganwadi centers. In view of their important contribution, it has been decided to increase their honorarium. This will boost the morale of all Anganwadi workers and assistants and the Integrated Child Development Services will be even better.
