ARA----------------------------In Upkramit Madhyamik Vidyalaya Berath, Agiaon, children are facing difficulties daily due to waterlogging and slippery roads as soon as there is light rain. The school premises take the shape of a pond, where innocent children fall and get injured many times, clothes get dirty and studies get affected. But alas! Neither the officials nor the public representatives are paying attention to the problem of these innocent children.

Headmaster Akshay Kumar said that this problem is beyond the capacity of the school management. For this, applications were given several times to the Block Development Officer, MNREGA PO, Ward Member, Mukhiya, Deputy Chief to the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of the district. Dozens of meetings, phone calls, e-mails, WhatsApp messages were sent. Every time only assurances were received, not a solution.

If the headmaster is to be believed, complaints were made continuously from 9 September 2023 to 2 May 2025, but till date no solution has been found. Even the matter was put up in the Public Grievance Redressal, but the Panchayat representatives avoided including it in the scheme.

Mukhiya Vinod Chaudhary, who has been in the post for two consecutive terms, also never took this serious problem seriously. When he was asked, he just said that “I have talked to BDO sahab, it will be included in the scheme on 2 October.”

Villagers and parents are asking—Is the safety and education of children so cheap that it is being ignored? Is development only on paper and in speeches?

Headmaster Akshay Kumar says disappointedly, “The Chief Minister of the state talks about development with justice, but on the ground, the officials and public representatives do not even listen to the pain of the children. This is not good governance, it is neglect.”
