Sushil Pathak alias Pinku, 42, son of the late Mukteshwar Pathak, a resident of Niranjanpur in the Industrial Police Station area, was returning to his village. As soon as he reached the NH crossing near Dalsagar village, before the Dalsagar toll plaza, an unknown speeding vehicle hit him with great force. Upon receiving the information, the Industrial Police Station team reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem.
The second incident occurred at the same place about an hour later, around 4 pm. A motorcyclist was hit by an unknown vehicle at the NH crossing near Dalsagar village. In this accident, two people on the motorcycle were seriously injured. With the help of local villagers, the police immediately took both the injured to the hospital for treatment, where their condition remains critical.
In this regard, Industrial Police Station SHO Sanjay Kumar said that the NH-922 crossing near Dalsagar village has become extremely dangerous, where accidents are happening frequently. On Sunday, too, one person died and two others were seriously injured in two separate accidents at the same spot. The police are taking necessary legal action and efforts are being made to identify the unknown vehicles.
Local villagers are angry about the continuous accidents. Locals say that the Dalsagar crossing lacks adequate traffic signals and proper speed control measures, leading to speeding vehicles causing accidents. Villagers have demanded that the administration immediately install speed breakers, traffic signs, and other safety measures at this dangerous crossing to prevent similar accidents in the future.
