SASARAM-------------------------District level training was given for the seventh minor irrigation census and water body census in the district. A district level training program for the seventh minor irrigation census was organized in the District Statistical Office under the aegis of the District Statistical Officer. It was told in the training that the minor irrigation census is conducted every five years by the Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Department of the Ministry of Water Power, Government of India. In this census, minor irrigation schemes (surface water, ground water and water bodies) such as tube wells, wells, ponds, lakes, waterfalls and ponds will be calculated. This time the calculation process will be completely online through a mobile app developed by the department. The last census was conducted in the sixth minor irrigation census in the year 2017-18. In the census work, the Block Development Officer for rural areas and the concerned Municipal Executive Officer for urban areas have been nominated as charge officers. Mr. Prabhakar Kumar, District Agriculture Officer, Mr. Raghurai Kumar Assistant Engineer Minor Irrigation Department and all Assistant Statistical Officers and Block Statistical Officers were present in the training program. The training was conducted by District Statistical Officer Pramod Kumar. Block Development Officer was also present on this occasion.
