A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in which priority has been requested to give priority to the poor class in the reserved category i.e. SC ST OBC and minority. Now the court can give direction on this, but what will be the definition of poverty and who will decide it.

DELHI----------------------------A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in which priority has been requested to give priority to the poor class in the reserved category i.e. SC ST OBC and minority. Now the court can give direction on this, but what will be the definition of poverty and who will decide it.
SC ST OBC already has a creamy layer, rest of the EWS will not be affected because it is already for the economically weaker section. Yes, SC ST OBC can also have EWS like General if this petition is considered successful.
Some people are thinking that this petition is for reservation on economic basis, which is absolutely wrong. This petition is also for classification like EWS in the reserved group. Meaning if the government wants, it can make 10% EWS for SC ST OBC in 50% reserved. It is a good idea but this will not affect the reservation and neither will any class get any benefit. Only merit and competition will reduce a bit like General EWS.
