ARA--------------------------All India Jansangh National President Acharya Dr Bharat Bhushan Pandey has expressed surprise at the tour being undertaken by the leaders of the Indy alliance in Bihar. In a statement issued in Ara today, he said that every election was bloody during the rule of the Congress and Lalu Prasad. The poor and the weak were not allowed to go to the booth. Booth looting, tearing of ballot papers, snatching of ballot boxes and incidents of violence were common in every election. In the capital Patna, polite and elderly people were beaten up and sent back from the polling booth without casting their vote. The common man still gets scared remembering that period. The Jansangh President said that as the Chief Election Commissioner, TN Seshan brought about a radical change. The political parties of that time also opposed him, but he discharged his duties well while staying within the limits of his constitutional rights. Dr. Pandey said that Rahul Gandhi's statement that he is not afraid of the Election Commission and will not give affidavit is highly reprehensible and a direct attack on the Constitution and constitutional institutions. Jan Sangh condemns such anarchist politics and supports the intensive revision issued by the Election Commission. He said that it is the duty of all political parties to cooperate with the Commission in adding the names of eligible voters and deleting the names of dead, displaced, registered at two places and foreigners.
