ARA----------------------------Bihar is grappling with a serious problem of encroachment today. Whether in cities or villages, on roads, footpaths, government land, or drains—illegal encroachment is rapidly increasing everywhere. This problem directly impacts the lives of ordinary people. Everything from daily commutes to emergency services is affected.
The biggest harm caused by illegal encroachment is when police vehicles, ambulances, or fire brigades are delayed in reaching the scene of an incident. Sometimes, roads become so narrow that even emergency vehicles cannot move. This puts the lives of ordinary citizens at risk. In such cases, every second counts, but encroachment turns these seconds into minutes.
The Bihar government and administration conduct continuous campaigns, but the problem will only be addressed at its root through regular, strict, and transparent action at all levels.
Removal alone does not eliminate the problem, as encroachment returns within a few days. It is essential that the municipal, police, and district administration jointly monitor and take daily action. A permanent task force should be established in every district to monitor encroachment and ensure roads are kept clean at all times. The government must ensure that roads are reserved for vehicles and pedestrians, not for shops, carts, and illegal constructions.
Illegal encroachments not only harm ordinary people but also small shopkeepers in the long run. Road jams, accidents, and a decline in business—these are all adverse consequences of encroachment. Therefore, society must also cooperate to prevent the encroachment of public spaces for private use.
If both the government and society work together with determination, Bihar can be freed from this chronic problem of encroachment. This is not just a matter of administrative action, but also of public awareness and civic responsibility. For Bihar's development and a comfortable life, the time has come to launch a sustained and rigorous campaign against encroachment.
