PATNA----------------------Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made an important announcement for the youth. He stated that providing government jobs and employment to youth has been a priority since the formation of the new government in November 2005. The government has set a target of providing employment to 10 million youth in the next five years. To achieve this, large-scale opportunities will be created in the government and private sectors, and youth will be provided with skill development training.
The Chief Minister announced that the scope of the Chief Minister's Self-Help Allowance Scheme, operated under the Saat Nischay program, has been further expanded. While previously only intermediate graduates were eligible for this scheme, now unemployed youth with arts, science, and commerce graduates have also been included in the scheme.
Under the scheme, unemployed graduates between the ages of 20 and 25, who are neither studying nor engaged in any type of job/self-employment, will receive a monthly assistance of ₹1,000. This amount will be provided for a maximum period of two years.
Nitish Kumar expressed hope that the youth will use this assistance to receive skill training and prepare for competitive examinations, enabling them to become self-reliant and capable in the future.
The Chief Minister said, “This visionary initiative of the government aims to provide more employment opportunities to the educated youth of the state and enable them to contribute to the development of Bihar and the country by becoming self-reliant, skilled, and employment-oriented.
