BIHAR GETS ITS FIRST ROAD TUNNEL

ARA-----------------------------Bihar is now moving towards a new achievement in the field of infrastructure. For the first time in the history of the state, a road tunnel is going to be constructed. This tunnel will be built in Kaimur district and its length will be about 5 kilometers. This tunnel is part of the country's ambitious Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway project.

Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway: Lifeline of Eastern India.

The Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway will be a 690 km long Greenfield Expressway connecting two major cities of the country – Varanasi and Kolkata. The construction of this expressway will make the movement of goods and passengers between North India and East India easier, faster and safer.

160 km route in Bihar's part.

A 160 km long part of this expressway will pass through four districts of Bihar. These mainly include districts like Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad and Gaya. This project can prove to be a boon for the economic, social and industrial development of these districts.

Kaimur Tunnel: State's first road tunnel.

It has been decided to build a tunnel to cross the Kaimur hills during the construction of the expressway. This tunnel will be about 5 km long, which will be Bihar's first road tunnel.
