BIHAR ASSEMBLY ELECTION IS LIKELY IN TWO TO THREE PHASES, DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AFTER CHHATH

ARA--------------------------Along with political parties, the Election Commission has also intensified the preparations for the assembly elections in Bihar. The current term of Bihar Legislative Assembly is ending on 22 November 2025. It is expected that this time the assembly elections can be held in two to three phases. The date of the election will be decided in view of Diwali and Chhath Mahaparva. The Election Commission team will also visit Bihar in June.

The Election Commission is now preparing to give identity cards to every booth level officer, so that they can go door to door and do the verification work. A campaign will be run to update the voter list in Bihar, so that the names of youth above 18 years of age can be added to the voter list. The Commission is preparing to launch an integrated dashboard till the Bihar elections. In this, all the facilities related to the Commission will be available at one place. The Commission is going to give new facilities to the voters. Now there will be a maximum of 1200 voters at the polling station instead of 1500. Additional polling booths will be set up in densely populated areas.

According to sources, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar may visit Bihar this month. During this time he will review the election preparations. Training of officers and employees related to the election process is also going on under the commission. The commission is trying to ensure that no dispute arises regarding the voter list in Bihar like Maharashtra, Haryana and Delhi. For this purpose, BLOs (Booth Level Officers) have been given special training.

The last time the 2020 assembly elections in Bihar were held in three phases

In the first phase, voting was held on 71 seats on 28 October 2020, in the second phase, votes were cast on 94 seats on 3 November while in the third and final phase, voting was completed on 7 November for 78 assembly seats. After this, counting of votes was done on 10 November 2020. The 2015 elections were conducted in five phases

Possible Bihar Election Schedule 2025
