SASARAM-------------------------A vibrant Bhojpuri Haat will come up near Indrapuri Barrage in Rohtas district, offering a cultural hub where couples can tie the knot amidst scenic beauty and tourists can savor Bhojpuri traditions, boosting local economy and heritage by September 2026. Spanning 10 acres of Water Resources Department land transferred to the Tourism Department, the Rs 25.25 crore project, spearheaded by Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited, has already invited tenders. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the initiative during his Pragati Yatra. The haat will showcase Bhojpuri culture, with stalls serving local delicacies like sattu and oversized rotis, attracting visitors to the popular barrage. The haat will create a thriving market for local farmers and forest dwellers from Kaimur hills to sell their produce, while generating employment for residents. It will also promote Bhojpuri and other local art forms, giving artists a platform to showcase their talent and earn a livelihood, amplifying the region’s cultural heritage through widespread promotion.
