ARA (RNI) Huge quantity of illegal foreign liquor recovered from Mahindra pickup in Arrah, two smugglers arrested

A major success has been achieved under the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor in Bhojpur district. On the instructions of the district administration, the team of the prohibition department has recovered a huge quantity of foreign liquor from a Mahindra pickup. This action was taken on the orders of Bhojpur District Magistrate Mr. Tanay Sultania, under whose direction a continuous raid campaign is being conducted against illegal liquor in the district.

Assistant Commissioner, Prohibition Department Mr. Rajneesh had received secret information that illegal foreign liquor was being taken from Haryana to Patna, Bihar in a Mahindra pickup vehicle. As soon as the information was received, he formed a team under the leadership of Inspector Mr. Prakash Chandra. The team showed promptness and cordoned off the vehicle near Kulhadia toll plaza located on Buxar-Patna fourlane and searched it.

During investigation, a huge quantity of foreign liquor was recovered from the steel box kept in the rear of the pickup (registration number – UP12AT-4997). The liquor was being smuggled by hiding it illegally in the vehicle so that it could escape the eyes of the police.

The police arrested two smugglers from the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar (resident - Kharkhoda, District Sonipat, Haryana) and Amit (resident - Bhaisru Khurd, Police Station Sapla, District Rohtak, Haryana).

Both the accused have been arrested and handed over to the court for further legal action.

This action of the prohibition department has created panic among the illegal liquor smugglers. The department said that this campaign will continue continuously in the district and liquor smuggling will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The department has also appealed to the general public that if there is any information about illegal smuggling or storage of liquor anywhere, then immediately inform the local administration.

This action not only shows the vigilance of the administration, but also proves that the administration is completely serious about strictly enforcing the prohibition law.
