ARA---------------------------Martyred SSB soldier Bharat Prasad, a resident of Dhanauti village in Charpokhari block under the Piro subdivision, was remembered with fondness this year as well. A Martyrdom Day ceremony was held on Saturday at the Piro High School campus in memory of martyred SSB soldier Bharat Prasad. During the ceremony, the martyr's father was honored with a shawl. SI/GD Jitendra Kumar and CT/GD Chandan Kumar Rai of the Border Security Force (BSF) spoke of the dedication, courage, and bravery of martyr Bharat Prasad, stating that the SSB is proud of such a brave soldier. Such patriotic and brave young men are rarely born. Bharat Prasad was a resident of Dhanauti village in Charpokhari block under the Piro subdivision and joined the 31st Battalion of the Border Security Force as a constable in 2006. Bharat Prasad, a soldier serving in the Border Security Force, was a student of Piro Plus Two High School. Demonstrating his patriotism and indomitable courage, he was martyred in the battle against anti-national forces in Kokrajhar, Assam, on April 4, 2011. It is said that Bharat Prasad remained steadfast in his actions, even after being hit by enemy bullets. He was then attacked with a grenade, killing him on the spot. To commemorate his martyrdom, the 40th Battalion of the Border Security Force organizes an annual memorial ceremony every year. The officers and other dignitaries present paid heartfelt tributes to martyr Bharat. Present at the ceremony were Bharat Prasad's father, along with all the teachers and non-teaching staff, students, parents, and dignitaries, who laid wreaths on his portrait and remembered him with deep respect.
