ARA------------------------Various schemes were reviewed in the 20-point meeting, many officials were absent. An important meeting of the 20-point program implementation committee was held on Thursday in the local block auditorium. The meeting was chaired by 20-point chairman Dharmendra Singh and BDO Mukesh Kumar, secretary of the operating committee. In which a point-wise review of the government schemes and development works going on in various panchayats of the block area was done. In the meeting, the status of implementation of education, health, irrigation, road, cleanliness, housing, MNREGA, toilet construction, old age pension, scholarship, public distribution system, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other welfare schemes was discussed. The officials were instructed that any kind of negligence in the progress of the schemes will not be tolerated and it is mandatory to complete every work within the time limit. In the meeting, the committee members also prominently placed the problems related to the common people. Serious concern was raised on issues like road and drain construction, drinking water supply, condition of Anganwadi centers, availability of medicine and doctors in health centers in many panchayats. Committee member Azhar Ahmed raised the issue of shortage of doctors and nurses in the additional health centre in Kirkiri Azimabad in the meeting. On the other hand, member Binod Kumar had to construct a drain along the two hundred feet road in Situhari village. But the contractor constructed the drain on one side and could not construct it on the other side.

It is said that more than half a dozen officers and workers of the block cum zonal office were absent in the 20-point program implementation committee. Due to which the committee members expressed anger in the meeting. It was said that in the committee meeting, letters are given to the officers and workers of the block cum zonal office and other departments to be present in the meeting. But careless officers and workers did not consider it appropriate to be present in the meeting of this committee. Due to which correct information about the schemes being run by the government in the panchayats is not available. Officers of other departments of the block including MNREGA, supply, labor department, electricity, cleanliness, zonal officer, agriculture officer were not present in the meeting.
