ACCUSED OF RAPING A GIRL BEATEN UP

SASARAM (RNI) A case of indecent assault on a 10-year-old girl has come to light in Sasaram, the district headquarters. Following the incident, angry people beat up the accused youth and handed him over to the police. The seriously injured accused is undergoing treatment at Sadar Hospital, Sasaram. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Shamim, a resident of Pratapganj Mohalla in the Nagar police station area.

According to information, the accused lured the girl on Sunday evening and raped her in a papaya warehouse. The girl somehow escaped and reached home and narrated the incident to her family.

Family members and local residents began searching for the accused on Monday, and as soon as he was found, he was beaten. Upon receiving the information, the Dial 112 team arrived at the scene, rescued the accused from the mob, and admitted him to the hospital.

On receiving the information, Sadar DSP Forest Dilip Kumar and Nagar police station chief Rajiv Ranjan Rai also arrived at the scene and began investigating the matter. The DSP said that the accused youth has been taken into custody and further action is being taken after registering an FIR.
