ARA-----------------------------A heartbreaking incident occurred on Monday afternoon near the South Bihar Gramin Bank in Kulhadiya village, under the Koilwar police station area. A local JDU leader was attacked over a previous dispute. The attackers stabbed her with a sharp-edged weapon, seriously injuring her. The incident has sent shockwaves through the entire area.

According to reports, Sonam Patel, 35, daughter of Sakal Mahato, a resident of Kulhadiya village in the Koilwar police station area and also the JDU's Koilwar block president, was on her way to the bank with her daughter when she was attacked. Patel suffered serious injuries from a knife wound to her left side of the waist. Immediately after the incident, she was taken to the Koilwar Primary Health Center (PHC). After receiving first aid, she was referred to Sadar Hospital due to her critical condition. Considering the severity of her condition at Sadar Hospital, doctors referred her to Patna for further treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Koilwar Police Station Officer Narottam Chandra arrived at the scene with his police force and began a thorough investigation. Every possible effort is being made to arrest the attackers. Meanwhile, Khushi Kumari, daughter of the injured leader, Sonam Patel, explained that in 2024, her younger sister was molested by two brothers from the same village, and she had filed a complaint with the local police station. According to Khushi, the attackers had also come to her house two days earlier and threatened to kill her.

While she was walking with her mother, Sonam Patel, to the South Rural Bank in the village, the same two accused approached them from behind. As they approached the bank, one accused pushed Khushi down, while the other grabbed Sonam Patel and stabbed her in the waist with a sharp weapon. Sonam Patel was seriously injured in the attack. Khushi Kumari has accused Rajkumar Singh and Bittu Kumar Singh, both from the same village, of injuring her mother with a sword. However, the police are investigating the matter on their own.
