DELHI----------------------------Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Thursday that confidence in India is rapidly growing across the world, and leading international companies and investors are expanding their operations in the country.
Speaking at a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Vaishnaw said that India's growth trajectory, reforms, and future-ready infrastructure are attracting the attention of global leaders.
He said that discussions in Davos clearly reflected that India is being seen as a reliable and trustworthy partner in global value chains.
The Union Minister said that global logistics company Maersk is actively engaging with India to strengthen logistics infrastructure, including shipping, ports, and railways.
He further added that the discussions also covered collaboration in semiconductor-related materials, a critical area for India's long-term manufacturing and technology goals.
Vaishnaw said, “Maersk is actively collaborating with India to improve logistics infrastructure, including shipping, ports, railways, and semiconductor materials.”
The Union Minister further added, “Honeywell is partnering with India in railway modernization. It is keen to expand its manufacturing operations in India.”
He also said that US-based technology company Honeywell is partnering with India in railway modernization and has shown keen interest in expanding its manufacturing operations in the country.
Speaking about investor interest, the Union Minister said that Temasek Chairman Teo Chee Hean expressed a clear desire to increase Temasek's presence in India.
He further added that Singapore is committed to investing in India's physical and digital infrastructure, as well as deep-tech startups, reflecting long-term confidence in India's economic fundamentals.
