BUXAR-------------------------A meeting of the Raghunathpur branch of the All India Rail Passengers' Welfare Council (under Brahmpur block) was held on Sunday at the Durga Temple within the Raghunathpur railway station premises, presided over by Dr. Chandrashekhar Pathak. The meeting focused on organizational expansion, upcoming programs, and a review of demands previously raised by the Council. Following the meeting, a memorandum addressed to the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Danapur, was submitted to the Station Deputy Manager.
It was decided during the meeting that a special session for all Council members would be held on July 26 to discuss organizational expansion. Additionally, a roadmap for an agitation concerning issues related to the amenities for rail passengers and local residents would be prepared.
Council office-bearers noted that a memorandum submitted to the Danapur DRM on March 18, 2026, had demanded halts for the Shramjeevi Express and Kashi Vishwanath Jan Shatabdi Express at Raghunathpur station. Other demands included the installation of digital display boards on platforms 2 and 3, the operation of reservation counters during both shifts, the inscription of "Alight here for Baba Brahmeshwar Nath Dham" on the station nameboard, and the provision of adequate drinking water facilities across platforms 1 through 4.
The Council emphasized that lakhs of devotees visit the Baba Brahmeshwar Nath temple during the month of *Sawan*; therefore, ensuring the availability of sufficient drinking water and other basic amenities at the station is crucial. The demand for the early fulfillment of these pending issues was reiterated. The Council warned that if prompt action is not taken regarding these demands, the agitation would be intensified next month.
A large number of members attended the meeting, including Council National President Nagendra Mohan Singh, Manish Bhardwaj, Tarkeshwar Pathak, Sandeep Kumar Rai, Jalil Mohammad (alias Netaji), Sitaram Thakur, Deepak Kumar, Sampurnanand Prasad, Mohammad Imran Ansari, Shakeel Ahmed, Mohammad Nemuddin Ahmed, Sanjay Kumar Ojha, Ganesh Prasad, Nirmal Keshari, Deepnarayan Ram, and Surendra Yadav.
