BUXAR---------------------------In Nawanagar, Buxar district, a massive fire erupted late Saturday evening at a Hero motorcycle agency, reducing 40 motorcycles to ashes. The showroom owner has suffered financial losses running into lakhs. The blaze caused panic and chaos throughout the local market.

A fierce fire broke out late Saturday evening at a motorcycle agency in Nawanagar, located in Bihar's Buxar district. The fire originated from a short circuit at the Hero agency—situated near the 'Makhan Bhog Festival Counter' in the local market area. In a matter of moments, the fire intensified rapidly and grew into a raging inferno. The flames spread so swiftly that more than 40 Hero motorcycles parked within the agency premises were completely destroyed. This fire incident triggered a state of panic and commotion across the market area.

According to eyewitnesses, the flames were extremely fierce, causing people to hesitate and fear entering the premises. However, displaying great courage, local villagers initiated efforts to extinguish the fire; after a strenuous struggle, they managed to bring the blaze partially under control. Upon receiving information about the incident, Station House Officer (SHO) Prafulla Kumar arrived at the scene with a police contingent to assess the situation. Subsequently, the fire brigade was alerted.

A short while later, a small fire tender from Sonvarsha and a larger unit from Dumraon arrived at the scene and commenced firefighting operations. Through the combined efforts of the fire brigade personnel and local residents, the fire was finally brought under control. However, before the blaze could be fully contained, motorcycles and other merchandise worth lakhs of rupees had already been destroyed in the fire. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the root causes of the incident.
