A major road accident has occurred within the jurisdiction of the Parasathua Police Station in Sasaram. The incident took place near Sheikh Bahuara on National Highway-319, where the bus, laden with passengers, lost control and flipped over. One person died in the accident, while more than 20 passengers sustained injuries. Several women are among the injured.
The deceased has been identified as Bhikhi Singh, a resident of Sawar in the Kaimur district. Following the accident, the scene was engulfed in chaos, marked by screams and panic.
Reports suggest that the bus was traveling from the direction of Kochas. During the journey, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn along the roadside. Following the crash, local villagers rushed to the scene; after a strenuous effort, they managed to right the bus and extricate the passengers trapped inside.
The injured have been admitted to various nearby hospitals for treatment, where the condition of several individuals is reported to be critical. Upon receiving information about the incident, the Parasathua Police arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation into the matter. The causes behind the accident are currently being ascertained.
