PATNA-------------------------Adopting a policy of zero tolerance against corruption, the Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau has once again taken significant action. On Wednesday (May 6, 2026), a team from the Bureau arrested Mrs. Sushma Kumari—a female supervisor at the Child Development Project Office (CDPO) in Nagarnausa, Nalanda district—red-handed while she was accepting a bribe of ₹3,200.
This action was initiated based on a complaint lodged by Mrs. Baby Kumari, a resident of Nagarnausa. According to the complaint, the accused, Sushma Kumari, was demanding a bribe in exchange for signing the official register pertaining to the government nutrition allowance funds for the month of April.
The Vigilance Bureau verified the complaint, confirming that a bribe had indeed been demanded. Subsequently, a special raid team was constituted under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Shashi Shekhar Chaudhary. Setting a trap, the team apprehended Sushma Kumari at her official residence—located within the Nagarnausa Block premises—while she was accepting the ₹3,200 bribe.
According to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, this marks the 52nd First Information Report (FIR) registered against corruption in the year 2026.

The Bureau has clarified that regardless of whether the bribe amount is small or large, action against corruption will continue unabated. Following her interrogation, the arrested accused will be produced before the Honorable Special Court (Vigilance) situated in Patna.
