SASARAM-----------------------------Under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer-1 Dilip Kumar, a team led by City Station House Officer Rajiv Ranjan Rai conducted a raid late Sunday evening at the grounds of Shri Shankar College, Takia, in the city. One of the three criminals, who had gathered there with the intention of committing a major crime while consuming alcohol, was apprehended, while the other two managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Superintendent of Police Roshan Kumar confirmed this, stating that the arrested criminal is Govinda Sonkar alias Babua Khatik, a resident of Yusufchak locality in Takia. Two country-made pistols, a pistol loaded with 9 live cartridges of KF-7.65 mm, three live cartridges of 8 mm, two motorcycles, and an Android mobile phone were seized from him. The arrested criminal already has serious cases registered against him at the City Police Station and the Muffasil Police Station. According to the SP, the other two absconding criminals have been identified and will be arrested soon. The SP emphasized that criminals and those who encourage crime will not be spared, no matter how influential they may be.
