BUXAR---------------------------Buxar Lok Sabha MP Sudhakar Singh strongly raised national highway projects related to Buxar, road safety, service roads, flyovers, and new expressway proposals at a meeting of the Ministry of Road Transport in New Delhi.

Buxar Lok Sabha MP Sudhakar Singh (RJD) prominently raised road projects and serious traffic-related problems of the district at the meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways held in New Delhi on Thursday. During the meeting, he presented several important suggestions related to road construction, maintenance, traffic safety, and new national highway projects, keeping Buxar at the center, and also submitted a detailed memorandum to the ministry. MP Sudhakar Singh demanded the construction of proper drainage systems on both sides of the road from Buxar roundabout to Ahirauli, stating that the lack of drainage causes roads to deteriorate quickly and leads to significant inconvenience for the public. He also emphasized the need for pedestrian crossings (foot overbridges/zebra crossings) in busy areas like Buxar roundabout, Churamanpur, Dharhara, and Ahirauli to ensure the safety of the general public and schoolchildren.

He also drew the ministry's attention to the problems caused by the lack of service roads near Nuawan, Sarimpur, Dalsagar, Bhaisaha, and Krishnabrahma flyovers. The MP said that the absence of service roads causes difficulties in daily commuting for local residents and also poses a risk of accidents.

The MP also objected to the proposed alignment connecting the Purvanchal Expressway to the Patna-Buxar NH-922. He demanded that the expressway be connected via a new route outside the densely populated Buxar city to avoid a negative impact on the city's traffic system and prevent future traffic congestion.

Regarding the Buxar-Chausa-Mohania NH-319A, the MP expressed concern about the large-scale displacement that would result from the current alignment in the Banarpur area.

He expressed concern and demanded changes. He also emphasized the need to extend the proposed bypass on this route to Ratwar (Bhabua Road) to facilitate local traffic.

Taking serious note of the frequent road accidents in the Dinara area of Rohtas district on the Ara-Mohania NH-319, Sudhakar Singh stressed the need for the construction of an overbridge at Dhansoi intersection, pedestrian crossings, and additional safety measures on flyovers. He said that these measures could reduce accidents and save lives.

In addition, the MP demanded that the Buxar-Dinara via Itarhi route be converted into a national highway, the construction of a new national highway from Chausa to Sasaram, and the development of the Buxar-Bhagalpur Greenfield Expressway as a separate greenfield project as per the budget announcement.

He also demanded that service roads, similar to the Yamuna Expressway, be made mandatory in the new expressways and corridors proposed under the Bharatmala project. He also emphasized the extension of NH-120 from Biharsharif to Dumraon via Naya Bhojpur to the Janeshwar Mishra Ganga Bridge and the proposal for a new high-speed greenfield corridor connecting Western Bihar in the north-south direction. MP Sudhakar Singh said that if these demands are seriously considered, the road connectivity of Buxar and the entire Western Bihar will be strengthened, traffic will become safer, and the economic development of the region will gain new momentum.
