BUXAR---------------------------A case has come to light in Turangarh village under Rupasagar Panchayat of Nawanagar block, where the homes of approximately 40 families of the Musahar community, who were living on the embankments along the canal, have been demolished. Public representatives have termed this action serious and inhumane. Following this action, entire families, including young children, women, and the elderly, are forced to live under the open sky in the cold weather.
Upon receiving information about the incident, former Dumraon MLA Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh, CPI-ML block secretary Harendra Ram, Madiya PACS president Neeraj Kumar, District Council member Rajiv Kumar Yadav, Mukhiya Brij Kumar Singh, and other public representatives reached the spot and met with the affected families to assess their situation.
Former MLA Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh spoke to the Circle Officer over the phone and demanded that the affected families be immediately provided with tarpaulins, blankets, food, and temporary accommodation. He also emphasized the need to quickly begin the process of permanent rehabilitation for all affected families.
Dr. Singh said that the Musahar community is already extremely backward socially, economically, and educationally. In such a situation, evicting them without any alternative arrangement is against human values and a direct violation of the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution. He demanded that the administration immediately provide relief materials, rations, temporary accommodation, and land for permanent settlement. He warned that if concrete action is not taken soon, a public movement will be launched, for which the entire responsibility will rest with the administration.
