They have been appointed as observers and ordered to report to Patna. To ensure peaceful elections for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Election Commission has deployed 31 IAS officers from the Yogi government. They have been appointed as observers and ordered to report to Patna. The list has been released by the Election Commission. During the first phase, the Election Commission appoints observers from various states who will perform important tasks such as ensuring adherence to the code of conduct by candidates and political parties, monitoring election expenditure, and addressing public complaints.
UP IAS officers are scheduled to report to Bihar on Thursday, October 16th. They will monitor the voting process, ensure voter safety, and ensure fair elections.
Sixteen IAS officers have been sent to Bihar for the first phase, including Ajay Kumar Shukla, Balkar Singh, Chaitra V, Om Prakash, Selva Kumari J, Amit Singh Bansal, Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Pranjal Yadav, Uday Bhanu Tripathi, Anamika Singh, Bhawani Singh Khangarot, Giri Shankar Priyadarshi, GS Naveen Kumar, and Raj Shekhar. These officers will review polling stations, voter lists, voting materials, and other election preparations.
According to the Election Commission, observers will monitor the activities of candidates and political parties, prevent violations of the code of conduct, and ensure transparency in the electoral process. They will also address voter complaints and help prevent electoral violence or irregularities. This will ensure that the Bihar Assembly elections are conducted in a fair, free, and safe manner.
As part of political preparations, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav will contest from Raghopur for the third time and will begin campaigning in support of the Grand Alliance candidates. Along with his active campaigning and organizational strategy, the observers will play a crucial role in ensuring an effective and orderly electoral process in Bihar.
