SASARAM------------------------The financial scam of crores in the District Transport Office located in Sasaram, Bihar has created a stir in the administrative circles. The departmental audit report has revealed that four employees of the Transport Department together did not deposit the amount of ₹ 2 crore 30 lakh in the government account.

District Transport Officer Rambabu has confirmed this irregularity and lodged an FIR against four employees of his own office. As soon as the case was registered in Sasaram Nagar police station, the police started investigation in the District Transport Office.

According to the audit investigation, Ajay Kumar Singh and Akshay Kumar did not deposit the amount of ₹ 1 crore 75 lakh of Motor Vehicle Tax in the bank. At the same time, programmer Anil Kumar and data entry operator Anil Kumar also did not deposit the amount of ₹ 55 lakh received from e-challan in the bank.

This irregularity came to light during the audit of records from the financial year 2021 to 2025. The District Transport Officer said, "Not depositing the money collected from the common man in the government treasury is a serious financial crime."

As soon as the audit report was made public, there was a stir in the Collectorate. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Sasaram SDPO Dilip Kumar himself reached the District Transport Office and started a detailed investigation of the documents.
