1900 NEWLY LITERATE WOMEN PARTICIPATE IN BASIC LITERACY EXAMINATION

ARA--------------------------The examination for women who became literate through the Akshar Anchal Yojana for Mahadalit, Dalit, minority, and extremely backward communities was conducted in Piro and other blocks of the district, facilitated by education volunteers and Talimi Markaz volunteers. A total of 21 examination centers were set up in Piro, where 1900 newly literate women participated in the examination. According to Anju Singh, the Key Resource Person (KRP) of the Mahadalit Dalit Minority Extremely Backward Akshar Anchal Yojana, the examination was conducted by setting up centers in one school of each Complex Resource Center. All education volunteers and Talimi Markaz volunteers were given the responsibility to ensure 100% participation of the newly literate learners in the examination. At most of the designated examination centers, more than 100 newly literate women participated. In some cases, two to three women from the same family were seen taking the exam. Shanti Devi, Pramila Devi, Anjali Devi, Hiramuni Devi, Aarti Devi, Babita Devi, and Manju Devi, who were taking the exam at the Primary School Agiaon Bazar examination center, said that they could not study in their childhood due to family reasons, but now that they have the opportunity, they want to erase the stigma of illiteracy. Similarly, Soni Devi, Farzana Khatoon, Taramuni Devi, Afsana Khatoon, Rupa Kumari, Rehana Khatoon, Tamanna Bano, Ruby Khatoon, Sohrana Khatoon, and Suggi Kumari, who appeared for the examination at Kanya Middle School Piro, looked very enthusiastic after becoming literate.
