133.75 LITRES OF IMFL SEIZED, 5 ARRESTED

SASARAM---------------------------Under strict adherence to the liquor ban law in Bihar, Rohtas police has taken large-scale action in Bikramganj police station area. In the raids conducted on 27 and 28 August, the police seized a total of 133.75 liters of foreign liquor and arrested 5 accused involved in this illegal trade.

On the instructions of Assistant Superintendent of Police cum Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Bikramganj, a special campaign was launched against illegal liquor. The constituted team first raided the house of Golu Kumar alias Ravish Kumar (age 25 years, father Harendra Rai alias Lallu Rai, presently Sugar Mill Ward No. 16, Police Station Bikramganj), from where 31.75 liters of foreign liquor was recovered. During interrogation, the accused revealed the name of his associate Ankit Kumar, who was arrested.

In the same sequence, on the basis of secret information, the team raided the house of Anuj Kumar Singh (father Molashankar Singh, Punjabi Mohalla Ward No.16, Police Station Bikramganj) and recovered 102 liters of illegal foreign liquor. During interrogation, Anuj told that Bikki Kumar, Bittu Kumar and Pappu Kumar are also involved in the liquor network and they used to get 10% commission on hiding and selling liquor at Rs 300 per box.

After this, the police arrested Bittu Kumar alias Akash Kumar and Pappu Kumar alias Vishal Kumar (both father Bahadur Sah, Chini Mill Ward No.16, Police Station Bikramganj).

Police officials said that a case has been registered against the accused under Section 30 (A) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Amendment Act-2022. Also, a complete investigation of the liquor supply network is being done.
