The Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, today approved the provision of KAVACH on the remaining routes of Indian Railways.
The provision of KAVACH on the remaining routes of Indian Railways has been approved under the Umbrella Work 2024-25, as part of the Works, Machinery & Rolling Stock Programme 2024-25. The cost of the Umbrella Work is ₹27,693 crore.
Under this, a sub-umbrella work for East Central Railway has been approved at a cost of ₹1,822 crore. The sub-umbrella work proposes the provision of KAVACH on the remaining routes of East Central Railway (2200 route kilometers) at a cost of ₹960.66 crore.
