According to information, the deceased is Ashok Ram, 22, son of Lalak Ram, a resident of Paharpur village in the Gadhani police station area. He was a laborer. The deceased's sister, Gorki Devi, said that his wife is pregnant. He had been living at his in-laws' house in Jamuan village in the Sandesh police station area for about a month and a half. He had invited her to his home in Jamuan village for Chhath Puja to take care of his family and children. On Tuesday, he returned from her home to his in-laws' house in Jamuan, after which he spoke with her over the phone.

It is reported that the deceased was the fourth of three brothers and one sister. His family includes his wife, Panchkilo Devi, and a daughter, Barkha.
