A woman who suffered burns while cooking died while undergoing treatment at Ara Sadar Hospital on Wednesday night, causing an uproar in her family. The deceased has been identified as Geeta Devi, 50, a resident of a local village in the Brahmapur police station area.
According to family members, Geeta Devi was cooking in the kitchen as usual on the morning of November 27th. Suddenly, flames erupted from the gas stove, engulfing her. Before family members could react, she was severely burned. With the help of villagers, she was given first aid locally. After which, doctors referred her to Ara for better treatment, where she died on Wednesday night.
