PATNA--------------------------To crack down on corruption, the Vigilance Department has swung into action and is conducting frequent raids and taking major action. The Vigilance team has raided the premises of Police Inspector Madhav Thakur, posted in the Investigation Department (Weaker Sections) at Police Headquarters.

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau conducted this raid at his residences in Begusarai and Patna and seized 12 bank accounts, six land documents, and investment documents in several insurance companies. The Vigilance team is currently analyzing the documents. The search and investigation are ongoing.

According to the Vigilance Bureau, a 2009 batch Sub-Inspector (SI) and currently serving as Police Inspector, Vigilance Police Station Case No. 100/25 was registered on November 26, 2025, against Madhav Thakur, a former Sub-Inspector (SI) and currently serving as Police Inspector, on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.

He is accused of earning excess income of about Rs 25 lakh 22 thousand 145, which is about 47 percent more than his total known income.
