TO INCREASE AWARENESS AMONG FARMERS ABOUT GOVERNMENT SCHEMES IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY AND AGRICULTURE: Dr. RANVEER KUMAR

ARA-------------------------“Krishi Gyan Vahan” run by the Extension Department of Bihar Animal Science University in Bhojpur, in coordination with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhojpur, Ara, visited Bihiya, Shahpur, Jagdishpur and Ara blocks of Bhojpur district from 22 to 25 July 2025 and made farmers aware about scientific animal husbandry and various government schemes. In this campaign, Dr. Ranveer Kumar Specialist, Veterinary Department gave detailed information to the farmers on effective measures for prevention and control of diseases in animals. At the same time, Dr. Alok Bharti Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhojpur discussed the scientific methods of dairy, goat rearing, poultry farming and pig rearing and advised the farmers to take special precautions during the rainy season. The team also included Dr. Vikas Singh, Horticulture Scientist, KVK Bhojpur, who gave detailed information to the farmers about the advanced cultivation of vegetables in this season and the pests and diseases that affect them. Young professional Amit Singh, the coordinator of the program, gave detailed information about the animal husbandry schemes run by the central and state government and motivated the farmers to take advantage of them.

The “Krishi Gyan Vahan” had an inbuilt TV screen, which showed awareness videos related to animal husbandry, horticulture and scientific farming. This innovation increased the curiosity of farmers in rural areas and they learned new techniques of animal husbandry with interest.

Rural farmers appreciated this initiative and said that they found the information about scientific methods of animal husbandry in the rainy season very useful. “Krishi Gyan Vahan” has emerged as a strong initiative towards spreading scientific awareness at the village level in Bhojpur.
