THREATENED TO IMPLICATE IN SC/ST ACT

BHABHUA---------------------------As the Bihar assembly elections approach, the political activity in Mohania assembly constituency has intensified. Meanwhile, a big allegation has been made on BJP MLA Sangeeta Kumari. RJD district president Aklu Ram claimed in a press conference that the MLA not only threatened to suppress the voice of the people but also tried to incite caste tension.

The matter escalated when a video went viral on social media on July 29. In this video, elderly Girija Shankar expressed displeasure over regional problems and lack of development work. He said that the MLA has not done any concrete work till now, due to which the problems of the people remain as they are. RJD worker Halchal Yadav shared this issue on his Facebook on August 15.

RJD alleges that MLA Sangeeta Kumari became furious after the post went viral. He threatened Halchal Yadav over the phone and said that if he raised his voice, a case would be filed against him under the SC-ST Act. Not only this, he is also accused of gathering the people of his community and pitting them against the Yadav community.

RJD district president Aklu Ram called it an attack on democracy and said that instead of solving the problems of the people, the MLA is intimidating them. He appealed to the public to put forward their problems openly and not come under pressure.

It is worth noting that Mohania assembly constituency is a reserved seat. Sangeeta Kumari was elected MLA from here in 2020 on an RJD ticket, but later she joined the BJP. The opposition says that this time the MLA is afraid of public anger and losing the election, so she is resorting to threats to suppress criticism.

This entire incident has heated up the politics of Mohania. On the one hand, RJD is calling it an attack on democratic rights, while on the other hand the BJP camp has maintained silence. It remains to be seen how much impact this controversy has in the election season.
