SASARAM-------------------------Swachhata Pakhwada is being celebrated as a movement in the district. District Magistrate Udita Singh issued several directives in a meeting with officials in her office. She stated that this year, Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 will be celebrated from September 17th to October 2nd, with the theme "Swachhatotsav." She stated that the program's objective is to promote cleanliness as a mass movement, ensure the participation of citizens, institutions, and all levels of the administration, and make collective efforts towards the sustainability of total cleanliness. She stated that targeted sanitation units will be identified and transformed through cleaning. Public spaces will be cleaned. Swachhata Mitra safety camps will be organized to provide health checkups and benefits to sanitation workers and social welfare schemes. Emphasis will be placed on making pujas and festivals plastic-free and zero-waste. Public participation will be ensured with campaigns to raise public awareness about cleanliness. Cultural programs, Swachhata Rangoli, Swachhata Champion Award Ceremonies, and Shramdan (voluntary work), etc., will be organized by local artists and youth. He said that puja committees will be instructed and motivated to organize clean, green, and waste-free festivals, eliminating single-use plastic in Navratri puja pandals, temples, fair grounds, and other celebrations. This will be expanded for Diwali and Chhath. Swachhata Chaupals will be established as focal points for cleanliness activities. People will be encouraged to light a lamp in the name of cleanliness. He said that a nationwide one-day, one-hour, simultaneous labor donation will be organized on September 25th. Meetings held at livelihood community-based organizations will discuss overall sanitation practices, such as regular toilet use, handwashing, separating dry and wet waste at home, proper disposal of wet and household waste, and paying utility bills. Local actors, celebrities, folk singers, and social media influencers have been asked to join the campaign and share videos of their cleanliness messages on social media handles. At the same time, by organizing Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2, those who contributed to Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 and making villages ODF Plus will be honored.
