PATNA-----------------------The Shivaji Chowk ground in Ramakrishna Nagar, in the Phulwari assembly constituency, was a vibrant political scene on Saturday. Addressing a large crowd, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar presented a detailed account of Bihar's development and the government's achievements. He stated that the development work undertaken in Bihar is exemplary across the country.

Nitish Kumar began his speech by saying, "We are the ones who work in Bihar; we did what we promised." Comparing the current situation with the fear and crime that existed before 2005, he pointed out that people can now go out for work until late at night, whereas previously, it was difficult to leave their homes after dusk.

Detailing the government's achievements in the education sector, the Chief Minister said that there are now 520,000 government teachers in the state, while his government has reinstated 258,000 teachers. Revolutionary changes have also taken place in the health sector; Since 2006, free treatment and medication have been implemented in government hospitals, and the number of medical colleges has now reached 27 districts.

He attacked previous governments, saying they looted Bihar and only promoted nepotism. In contrast, his government, under the "Saat Nischay Yojana," implemented schemes such as tap water for every home, paved roads for every street, and electricity for every home. Farmers were provided with irrigation, seeds, and electricity, and now, people in remote areas are connected to major hospitals through telemedicine.

Nitish Kumar also touted achievements in employment generation. He stated that more than 4 million youth have received employment so far, and more than 1 million have received government jobs, and the target is to employ 10 million youth in the next five years. Bihar has also set an example for women's empowerment across the country.

He said that 50% reservation for women has been implemented in Panchayati Raj and municipal bodies, and 35% reservation in the police. So far, 12.1 million women have been provided assistance under the Women's Employment Scheme, and the remaining funds are being distributed. Special financial assistance has also been received from the central government.

Describing the upcoming 2025 budget as historic, the Chief Minister said that it includes the Makhana Board, the new airport, the Khelo India program, and other infrastructure projects. A new 5,000-bed hospital is being built at Patna Medical College, while IGIMS is being expanded by 3,000 beds, and Nalanda Medical College by 2,500 beds.

Nitish Kumar placed special emphasis on the development of the Phulwari Sharif assembly constituency. He said that due to the AIIMS, religious sites, and new development projects, this area is emerging as a pride of Patna. He appealed to the people to vote first on November 6th and ensure a landslide victory for JDU candidate Shyam Rajak.

Present on the stage at the meeting were several JDU leaders, including Afzal Abbas, Chairman of the Bihar State Sunni Waqf Board, and Ghulam Gaus. The leaders also stressed on the importance of voting to the people and said that refreshments should be taken only after voting, so that the message of responsibility towards democracy can also be conveyed.
