ROHTA DM FELICITATED AT THE SIXTH NATIONAL WATER AWARDS PROGRAMME

SASARAM ---------------------------Rohtas district was honored at the national level for its outstanding work in water conservation and public participation at the grand distribution ceremony of the Sixth National Water Awards and Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Awards held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

On this occasion, District Magistrate of Rohtas, Mrs. Udita Singh, was presented with this honor in the august presence of the Honorable President of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu. Rohtas district's water conservation model was recognized nationally.

Initiatives implemented by the district administration, such as water conservation, rainwater harvesting, revival of water structures, public participation-based water management, Save Water Campaign at the rural level, and micro-watershed development work, received special praise on the national stage, leading to District Magistrate Udita Singh being honored with the award.

Over the years, Rohtas district has developed several effective models with public support, which have not only improved groundwater levels but also yielded strong results in the long-term conservation of water resources.

After receiving the honor, District Magistrate Udita Singh said that this award is the result of the combined efforts of every citizen of Rohtas district, water conservation volunteers, government departments, and the administrative team. She expressed confidence that these water management initiatives in the district will grow even stronger in the coming years.
