BUXAR--------------------------On the occasion of World Population Day, an awareness rally and painting competition was organized on Friday under the banner of 'My Bharat' organization. The purpose of this event was to make the general public aware of the challenges of population growth and to connect the youth with social issues. The program was led by social worker Nikhil Raj.
The program was organized in two sessions. The first session started from Ramna in the morning, from where the rally reached the station premises via Pakadi and took the form of a public meeting there. During this, the participants raised slogans carrying posters and placards with messages related to population control.
World Population Day is celebrated every year on 11 July. The purpose of this day is to spread awareness on issues related to population and its social, economic and environmental effects.
He said that according to the United Nations report, the global population may reach 9.7 billion by the year 2050, which will increase the pressure on resources.
Problems like poverty, unemployment, pressure on health services, and environmental imbalance arise from the growing population. The theme of World Population Day 2025 is 'Empowering youth so that they can choose the family of their choice'. We have to make the youth aware and capable. In the second session of the program, children and youth participated enthusiastically in the painting competition organized at 'Pai Academy'. In the competition, about 50 participants presented their feelings and thoughts on the subject of population through their artistry through colors.
In the competition, Ruchi Srivastava won the first place through her creative and thoughtful painting. Navya Srivastava got the second place and Soni Raj and Sachin Rai jointly got the third place.
Social workers Aishna Raj and Pawan Satyarthi were included in the jury of the competition. The winners were honored by Piyush Singh. During the prize distribution, he said, "Such competitions not only enhance the creativity of children, but also develop important life skills like self-confidence, social consciousness and emotional intelligence in them. "
The programme was attended by a large number of local social workers, teachers, parents, students and workers associated with the 'My Bharat' organisation.
Seeing the success of the programme, the organisers expressed their commitment to continue organising awareness programmes focused on such social issues in the future as well.
