POWER CRISIS MAY DEEPEN IN MANY STATES ACROSS OF COUNTRY

ARA----------------------------There are fears that the power crisis will deepen in the coming days in many states across the country. This is a significant reason: power generation at the Bokaro Thermal Power Plant in Jharkhand has been halted since late Tuesday night.

Power generation has been completely halted since around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday night, resulting in a daily loss of approximately ₹5.71 crore for the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). It is worth noting that the Bokaro Thermal Power Plant supplies electricity not only to Jharkhand but also to Punjab, Delhi, and Coal India Limited. Therefore, the power crisis in these states could deepen due to the inability to lift ash from the ash pond. According to officials, the ash pond was somehow dumped for four months, but now the ash pond itself is in danger. The reduced amount of dry ash going into Dalmia's cement factory due to the Bihar elections has also affected the operation of the power plant.

It is being said that the power plant will be able to operate only after the lifting of ash from the ash pond begins, hence, till then, the power crisis in many states seems to be deepening.
