DELHI--------------------------A major clash has been seen between Rahul Gandhi and the Election Commission on the social media platform 'X' regarding the foundation of democracy. Rahul Gandhi, alleging 'vote theft', demanded the Election Commission to make the voter list public, to which the Commission immediately retaliated and termed his claims as false. This development not only highlights a political tussle, but also raises questions about the transparency of the election process.
Rahul Gandhi created a stir in the political corridors by posting on 'X'. He said that "vote theft is an attack on the basic democratic principle of 'one person, one vote'." In his post, Rahul demanded the Election Commission to show transparency and make the digital voter list public, so that the public and political parties can audit it themselves. He also shared a website link and a missed call number for the public to support his demand.
Just hours after Rahul Gandhi's allegations, at around 5 pm, the Election Commission, through a post on 'X', called his claims false. The Commission said that the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi are baseless and misleading. The Commission also clarified that there is no lack of transparency in the voter list and it is already available in the public domain.
In its response, the Election Commission said that any common citizen or political party can easily download the draft and final copy of the voter list from their official website. They also shared the link of the website to confirm their point. By visiting this link, it becomes clear that the voter list is available for download on the Commission's website. Questions raised on Rahul Gandhi's intentions
After this incident, a big question arises that why is a seasoned and experienced leader like Rahul Gandhi making such serious allegations on the Election Commission without any investigation? Is this done only to win the applause of the public and gain their sympathy? Or is its purpose to start a misleading political campaign against the opposition?
There is a saying that "everything is fair in love and war." Today's politics has also often become a war between the ruling party and the opposition, where every possible effort is made to humiliate each other. In such a situation, the question also arises whether this step of Rahul Gandhi is just a part of a political strategy, so that confusion can be spread among the public by putting the Election Commission in the dock?
Today's aware public is watching and understanding all these developments very closely. It would not be wrong to say that people no longer believe only misleading claims, but investigate the facts themselves. The way the voter list is available on the Election Commission's website, the wisdom of the public will decide which party's claims it believes in. This incident can play an important role in deciding the direction of future politics. -Ajay Tyagi
