ARA-------------------------On the orders of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, the prohibition department is continuously conducting raids against illegal alcohol in the district. In this sequence, Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition Rajneesh received secret information that a large quantity of foreign liquor is going from Uttar Pradesh to Patna, Bihar in a luxury car.
A team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Prakash Chandra by Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition. On checking a Mahindra XUV-500 car near Buxar-Patna four lane Kayamnagar Over Bridge, (Thana-Geedha, District-Bhojpur), a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor was recovered from a secret cellar inside the car.
The registration number was not found marked on the said car. The driver of the car, Nizamuddin Ansari, son of Alauddin Ansari, resident of Fatehpur Kala of Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested. He was handed over to the court for further action.
A total of 576 pieces or 103.680 liters of illegal foreign liquor was seized from the said vehicle. The market value of the seized liquor was estimated to be around 2 lakhs. The seized liquor was being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Patna.
The raiding team included Inspector Prakash Chandra, Sub Inspector Shivam Kumar Jha, Assistant Sub Inspector Rajkumar Raja and Assistant Sub Inspector Ravi Kumar along with prohibition constables, SAP and Home Guard jawans.
