The first trial run of Patna Metro was successfully completed on Sunday. Before the trial run, coconut was broken and puja was done and it was inaugurated. Now the fare of Patna Metro has been fixed. It is believed that the metro can be inaugurated by the end of September.

Actually, Patna Metro Rail Corporation has released the fare structure. The minimum fare for traveling from one station to another will be Rs 15, while those traveling to more than one station will have to pay Rs 30. The fare structure in Corridor-1 and Corridor-2 is different. In Corridor-1, the fare for the journey from Danapur to Khemnichak via Patna Junction, Mithapur will be Rs 30. In Corridor-2, the fare from Patna Junction to ISBT has also been fixed at Rs 30.

System integration test and dynamic trial were conducted on the elevated track on Monday evening. According to officials, trials are going on on various technical parameters. On Sunday, the first fitness trial of Patna Metro was successfully conducted from Patna Depot to Bhootnath Metro Station. In this first fitness trial, three major aspects were examined. In which rolling stock fitness i.e. performance and safety of metro train on tracks was evaluated. OHE (Overhead Electrification) system i.e. electrical system powering the train was tested. In track fitness, the alignment and stability of the tracks were checked. Patna Metro was successful in all these tests.

According to the information, many flaws were found on inspection of Bhootnath, Zeromile and ISBT stations. The path from the bypass to the stairs at Bhootnath station is incomplete. Ganga sand has fallen in front of Zeromile station, brick flooring is to be done here. The work of laying tiles at many places including the waiting room at ISBT station is incomplete. Parking arrangements have not been made at all three stations yet.

In the first phase, it has been decided to run the metro from the depot to Bhootnath. In the second phase, it will operate from Bhootnath to Malahi Pakadi. The inauguration is likely to take place by the end of this month. The Metro management has sought the time of inauguration from the Prime Minister.

The Patna Metro train will have three coaches and it will run only on the down lane for now. The train has been painted in saffron colour and pictures of Golghar, Mahavir Mandir and Mahatma Buddha, symbols related to Bihar's cultural identity, have been engraved on it.

Metro officials said that Patna Metro will operate from 5 am to 11 pm. They said that metro cannot be compared with railways, because railways run 24 hours and also run freight trains, which gives it profit. Whereas metro is completely for passenger service. According to officials, passengers will be able to travel fast, safely and on time with Patna Metro. This will also provide relief from traffic jams and people will be able to enjoy luxury travel in the city.
