Now any elderly person of 70 years or more does not have to worry about money for treatment. Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana of the Central Government, a special "Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card" has been introduced for senior citizens. Through this card, elderly people across the country will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. The biggest relief is that there is no condition on the income or earnings of the elderly to get the benefit of this scheme. That is, every citizen of 70 years or more, whether he is a pensioner, a businessman or belongs to any class, can get this card made. The central government has informed the Parliament that 75.41 lakh Ayushman Vaya Vandana cards have been made so far. Of these, 32.3 lakh cards belong to women. So far 1.06 lakh claims have also been settled. Treatment of cardholders has started in Delhi and more than 600 senior citizens have availed free treatment.

This card is issued under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Any person aged 70 years or above can get it made. Cardholders can get cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh (Rs 10 lakh in Delhi) in any government or panel-linked private hospital in the country.

The number of elderly people aged 70 years or above in the country is more than 6 crores. At this age, the burden of heavy expenditure on treatment and medicines usually falls on the family. In such a situation, Ayushman Vaya Vandana card is proving to be a big guarantee of financial security for the elderly. It has now become very easy to get Ayushman Vay Vandana Card for senior citizens of 70 years or more. Through this card, people of every category will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh. The special thing is that there is no need to stand in line or visit government offices for this, but the card will be made in just a few easy steps on the mobile.

Complete process of making the card: Step 1: App download and login-First of all download Ayushman Mobile App in your mobile. Open the app and click on Login and select Beneficiary option. Fill the captcha and enter your mobile number, enter the OTP when it comes and verify it. Now click on the banner 'Enrollment of 70 years or more' appearing on the screen. Enter your Aadhaar number here. If the name is not in the list, an error will come. In such a situation, click on New Registration. Step 2: e-KYC process-e-KYC will have to be done for new registration. There will be four options in it—Aadhaar OTP, Finger Scan, IRIS Scan, Face Authentication. Choose any one of these and proceed. Step 3: Identity and details upload-After e-KYC, tick “Yes I wish” and click on Allow. Another OTP will come on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Eligibility will be confirmed as soon as it is entered. After this, the camera will turn on, in which a photo of your face will be taken inside the box. Choose your category (SC / ST / General). Enter the pin code and city name. Details of other family members will also have to be filled. After these easy steps, your Ayushman Vaya Vandana card will be ready. With this card, the elderly will get the facility of treatment in big hospitals without any cost.
