On September 29th, Akshay Sao, cousin of Pakri village resident Manoj Sao, and his daughter Sanjana Kumari eloped and married in a temple in Gaya.

On September 29th, Akshay Sao, cousin of Pakri village resident Manoj Sao, and his daughter Sanjana Kumari eloped and married in a temple in Gaya. Akshay's family became enraged upon learning of this love marriage. They even beat Akshay upon his return home.

On Tuesday, October 14th, Sanjana Kumari, accompanied by her father and family, filed a complaint at the police station.

She alleges that after the marriage, her in-laws (Akshay's family) forcibly shaved her hairline. Sanjana stated that she wanted to stay with her husband, Akshay, no matter what. She also threatened to commit suicide if she was not allowed to live with him.

Sanjana is a BA student and Akshay, also a BA student, had been in a relationship for four years. Akshay works abroad. Two months ago, they had also eloped, but returned home without marrying.

Khaira Police Station Chief Mintu Singh stated that the woman's family had filed the application. The entire matter is being investigated. Currently, the woman has been sent to Sadar Hospital for a medical examination and further action is being taken.
